The Harvest Is Plentiful!
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.“

Purpose: to educate our members on the need for recruitment of pastors, and to equip them with the tools to raise up the next generations of workers in the harvest fields.
Representatives will be with us from: Concordia University-Chicago, Concordia University-Wisconsin, Concordia Theological Seminary – Ft. Wayne, Conconcordia Seminary – St. Louis, LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces, Camp CILCA, Central Illinois District
Schedule:
2:45pm Arrive at St. John’s Lutheran, 901 W Jefferson in Effingham
3:00-3:25pm Welcome by Pastor Rutherford; Dr. Meyer on the need for recruitment.
Brief promo by each breakout leader of their session.
3:35-4:00pm Breakout sessions on various related topics.
4:00-4:10pm Transition between breakouts
4:10-4:35pm Repeat of breakout sessions
4:35-4:45pm Transition to Worship
4:45-5:30pm Worship Service / Hymn Sing on the theme
5:30-6:00pm Catered Fellowship meal (RSVP, attendees pay $7.00 each for their meal). Meal by Niemerg’s Steakhouse, dessert by Culver’s.
6:00pm Departure for home, where the harvest is plentiful!
