What is worth giving your life to? Come and hear about the ultimate story of love that begins, “Once Upon a Tree”, a drama presented by St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham with words and music by Pepper Choplin.

This Easter Cantata will be presented on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

This is the story of LIFE that leads us through the range of the human experience; through the celebration of the triumphal entry; the struggle of Gethsemane, the tenderness of a mother’s grief, the anger in the face of injustice.

The story takes us to the depth of human suffering and lifts us to the ultimate victory over death. The biblical account of Jesus defines the meaning of life itself and leads the way to eternal life.
